Microsoft’s US Enterprise Services is looking for a Senior Project Manager who demonstrates an advanced mix of skills in project management, technology, and strategic business acumen. The role requires both deep project management experience in a consulting organization, broad technology knowledge, and the ability to facilitate the deployment of solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level business and technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and end-to-end Microsoft technology projects is a must. Microsoft Project Managers are key enablers for other consultants and partner staff. They manage the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects and have a passion for customers that is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.
The selected candidate will apply solid project management and leadership skills and experience in delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. To be credible, he or she must have current and deep experience with managing Microsoft technology projects through all phases of a solution or application lifecycle. Additionally, he or she must demonstrate expertise and proven abilities in risk management and mitigation.
As a Microsoft Project Manager, you will help identify, pursue, and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing accounts. To accomplish this, the Microsoft Project Manager must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. The successful candidate will help translate business requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work (SOW).
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree, or equivalent work experience, combined with a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience, including a minimum of 10 years in technology and 5 years managing projects. Qualifications include hands-on experience in several of the following technologies: project management tools, application development, and infrastructure deployment. The job will require frequent travel (75% +) and can be anywhere within the United States. PMI's PMP certification is required. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) and Microsoft products is required. Preferred certifications will include MCSx, ITIL, CISSP, CCIE and//or ISSEP.
