Job Description:
The Microsoft Services Lab - is looking for a senior, experienced Test Consultant to help customers test and document the performance, availability, and scalability of applications. Responsibilities include creating project/test plans, coding test scripts, conducting tests, managing test engagements, performing tuning on customer applications, and documenting performance issues and improvements.
Candidate will work closely with Microsoft relationship owners and development teams to understand unique customer issues, to effectively simulate customer scenarios with test automation, create new test cases and suites of scripts for testing, as well as providing the larger Microsoft consulting community with case studies and methodology documentation. The requirements for this position include: Excellent written and oral communication skills, a passion for learning, the ability to work in both a team environment and independently, and a sincere commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
This person will lead efforts in assuring that the Microsoft Services Lab is the pioneer and thought-leader when it comes to BPOS/Azure platform testing.
Primary Requirements:
•Product cycle (functional & non-functional) testing experience
•Test case design and review experience (from business requirements)
•Test case development experience
•Experience in defect tracking
•Test scenarios (use-cases) design and review
•Test execution, analysis and reporting experience
•Experience in writing test scripts using Visual Studio Team Suite (VSTS)
•Deep .Net coding experience (C#)
•Proficient in MS SQL Server 2005 or higher, SQL and data manipulation (test data generation)
•Experience testing on scalable hardware.
•Experience on project using TFS

The ideal candidate will also have:
•7-10 plus years consulting in a major role
•Performance testing experience with VSTS Test 2-3 years (7-10 years in another testing tool)
•A solid understanding of test case design and testing methodologies for multiple software architectures
•An implementation level knowledge of Web development using XML, SOAP, and ASP.Net
•Net 2.0 development and IIS Troubleshooting experience (Windbg, Cordbg, Profiling)
•200 Level understanding of WCF, WPF, SharePoint technologies & SilverLight.
•SQL Troubleshooting and Tuning (SQL Profiling, Deadlock detection, performance tuning)
•Test development using Visual Studio Team System, Mercury Load Runner, Segue Silk Performer, or other 3rd party load testing tools.
•Windows Infrastructure (AD, Domains, Security, setup/configuration)
•Networking configuration, troubleshooting
•A BS in Computer Science, MCSD.Net certification, and MCSE certification is strongly preferred.
