This seasoned HR Business Leader will support the subsidiary of Sweden consisting of approximately 500 employees (SMSG and non-SMSG). This position has generalist/business partner and people management responsibilities including developing, managing, implementing, and integrating HR programs and guidelines for the business in support of organizational objectives. The HR Director will be responsible for developing and leading a team of 5 HR professionals across multiple disciplines. The HR Director is a member of the Western Europe HR Leadership Team, Subsidiary Leadership Team and requires close partnership with the other teams and organizations within MS.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Partner - Understand the Microsoft business models. Serve as a key member of the Subsidiary Leadership Team to drive business results. Drive systemic organizational and people strategies that are aligned to the business strategy. Work closely with Western Europe HR team and International HR partners to ensure seamless strategic management of the organization. Identify, monitor, analyze, manage and present key people business metrics to business leaders. Provide specific decision points for the leadership team with appropriate level of data and recommendations.
Change Agent - Partner with and coach leaders to facilitate organization and culture change. Act as a catalyst for building organizational effectiveness within the business. Educate business on HR trends that affect the business. Acquire business sponsorship for HR initiatives. Identify challenges with Microsoft culture and provide tools for client leaders to use in leading the business through any transitions to support the company strategy.
Project management - Lead implementation of core HR programs into the business insuring an effective, sustainable people strategy.
Talent management - Own and drive an integrated Talent management and development strategy for the subsidiary. Focus on quality talent acquisition, talent development, succession planning system. Develop comprehensive approaches to identify, develop, reward and retain key leaders. Raise the profile of Subsidiary Leadership Team members.
Employee Advocate - Build management capability to facilitate an open, inclusive, Microsoft values-based environment that enables effective employee advocacy. Ensure the HR team's role is perceived as an objective employee resource and escalation path for unresolved employee relations issues. The Country HR Lead would ensure that the Country HR Team has clear goals and expectations, and the team works effectively across various other MS organizations.
Candidates will possess strong generalist capabilities, proven business partner and people management experience in a rapidly changing environment. Understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to think strategically are essential. Strong knowledge of HR and ability to apply to complex organizational issues is required. Expert-level generalist skills and the ability to mentor and provide guidance to others within HR and the management team on complex issues. The ability to effectively work and communicate at all levels within the organization and commitment to strategic business partnerships and team developments are a must. Must be able to multi-task, deal with ambiguity, work in a team and highly matrixed business environment, recognize trends, and identify systematic approaches to solving problems in this fast moving, dynamic environment.
Qualifications should include a minimum of 8-10 years of directly applicable HR experience with at least 5 years in a management capacity working with senior level management. Master's degree in HR, Business or related areas is expected.
Familiarity with the Swedish business market, local labor laws and compensation and benefits practices desirable. English required, preferably Swedish.
