We are seeking a strong SDET who will be comfortable and effective working in multiple capacities on the newly formed Mobile Operator Engineering team within the Phone, Strategy and Commercialization group. You will be required to perform a unique and exciting mix of duties such as working directly with customers to enable the shipping of new phones onto Operator shelves, imparting Microsoft best practices for testing to our partners, and testing new consumer features such as Media, UX, etc.
Our strategy for success is to form deep relationships with mobile operators (MOs) allowing us to clearly understand how devices get certified and what can be done to make the certification process smoother. This will require us to understand their requirements such that we can push back into appropriate Microsoft teams, do root cause analysis of commercialization problems, and finally develop the tools to help partners catch problems early on. You should expect many of your test tools to be used by other companies, as well as educating them on the test process with Windows Mobile.

We also work with mobile operators to deliver a unique experience that seamlessly integrates their services (such as voicemail services, video-on-demand services, and navigation services for instance) with our platform. To accomplish this, our team often implements features that are high priority to MOs, resulting in traditional SDET work like test planning, designing, and automation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years experience testing and shipping software products, good communication skills, and has solid programming skills in C#, C++ or related languages. BA/BS degree in a CS or related discipline is preferred. Experience with Windows CE and cellular phone systems are big pluses.
