Are you a talented developer who is passionate about mobile devices and ready to come help power and commercialize millions of Windows Phones? Do you want to be part of the exciting, competitive Mobile Devices business? As part of the fast growing Mobile Device Strategy and Commercialization (MDSC) division in Windows Phone, we are working on the coolest Windows Phones on the planet! This role is part of a dedicated team within MDSC working directly with a top Korean cellular phone manufacturer, who has made a large commitment to Windows Phone.
We are looking for a strong and experienced developer to help the OEM to design and develop applications that make their devices stand out in the marketplace. You will also help them to bring new phones to market. As you work on these cool new devices, you will be in a unique position to evaluate and provide feedback on the Windows Phone platform that will lead to higher device stability and quality. Close collaboration with internal terms and external OEM partners will be essential for success in this role.
The ideal candidate will have depth of experience shipping commercial software, passion for technology and customer, great analytical problem solving and technical leadership. You will work at all levels of the software system from drivers to UI. The candidate is expected to have strong communication and customer interfacing skills, high motivation, and the ability to learn quickly. You must have track record as a developer delivering complete, high-quality design and implementation, and an aptitude for driving features across divisions and groups.
Qualifications:
7+ years of commercial software development experience
Proven excellent design, development, and analytical problem solving skills
Excellent C++/C# coding & debugging skills
Experience with WIN32 and COM development
Experience with Silverlight is a big plus
Background working on Windows Mobile, Windows CE or general embedded preferred (not required)
Experience working with media, media player, camera, DirectShow (DShow), codec, DLNA or related technologies preferred (not required)
Strong technical leadership, communication and team collaboration skills
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent required
