The OEM Engineering team within E&D is seeking someone with training in Test Fu, Testjitsu, or TestKwanDo. Use your knowledge and skills to help define and implement processes that help get the next generation of Windows Phone devices to market. In an SDET role, you will work directly with Development, Program Management, and OEMs on building and testing BSPs and kernel level drivers for in-development hardware. It is a unique opportunity to work closely with our most important cell phone partners to commercialize their devices. You will get to be involved in early phases of hardware development. You will have direct impact on the future of the mobile software landscape. Responsibilities: - Building and executing Test Plans - Good organizational skills and an eye for the details - Collaborate with partners and discipline peers to facilitate win-win solutions - Participate and contribute to Global Engineering Excellence practices and initiatives - Work and communicate effectively with our global development partners
Qualified candidates should posses: - 4+ years industry test and coding experience with demonstrated feature ownership throughout the complete product lifecycle (test collateral including test plans/specifications, test cases, automation, etc) - fluent in C++ / C# - Solid understanding of low level device drivers and interfaces. - Knowledge and understanding of sensors for embedded devices. - Knowledge of board support package and its internals - Experience with Microsoft internal tools and ability to create and maintain test kits. - Strong customer facing skills - Strong design, coding and debugging skills - Passion for product quality and excellence of the engineering system and work environment - Strong technical, leadership, written and verbal communication, and team collaboration skills - Understanding of mobile OS design and release cycle - BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline - Knowledge and understanding of managed layer code such as silverlight is desired (preferred) - Experiences with building service aware client software (preferred) - Experiences with v1 product/service (preferred) - Fluency in Mandarin a plus
