Job Category: Software Engineering: Test
Location: United States, WA, Seattle
Job ID: 709712 11172
Product: Windows Mobile
Division: Entertainment & Devices Division
The mobile and online areas are two of the most competitive and innovative areas in software today. Microsoft has strong competitors, but we also have great technologies, some amazing ideas, and a huge commitment to do what it takes to win from the executive leadership team. The My Phone service is the initial release in a bigger vision to combine these two critical areas into a compelling customer experience, enhancing the Windows Phone platform with powerful web integration scenarios around data protection, device management, social networking, location awareness, ease of use, integration with partner services, and much more.
The My Phone test team is looking for an SDET to join us as we embark on our 2.0 release. Our client work involves the development & testing of features that form part of the next release of Windows Mobile. Our server work involves development & testing for the next release of our datacenter hosted web services & web portal. Experience in either (or both) of these areas is highly preferred. The successful candidate will primarily own testing features for either client or server, but will work closely with the other.
Our team is based in downtown Seattle in the South Lake Union area - an ideal location if you live and/or play near the city. We also work across time-zones regularly, with a portion of the team based in Europe.
As well as excellent core competencies around problem solving, planning, execution, communication, and cross-team collaboration, the successful candidate must have great technical skills, a strong passion for quality, and a focus on providing a great user experience. Responsibilities include reviewing & enhancing PM/Dev specs, investigating test tools and methodologies, writing test specs, developing test automation, manual testing and validation where required, executing to plan, communicating strongly across disciplines and locations, and providing input into v.next planning.
The successful candidate will ideally have demonstrable experience as a successful tester, knowledge of C#/C++, familiarity with WTT, Tux, and/or MSTest, experience on Windows Mobile >=6 and/or Windows Server 2008, and the ability to work in a fast moving & fast changing environment.
This is an opportunity to work with a great team in a great location, in an exciting & innovative technology space, with lots of room for personal & professional growth. Get in touch to find out more details.
