The Microsoft Game Studios (MGS) Writing & Editing (W&E) team is looking for an ace content editor with project lead, scheduling, and a broad spectrum of editing experience. Our team is responsible for supporting games and franchises across different platforms, including Xbox 360, Games for Windows LIVE, and Xbox LIVE Arcade. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-driven editor who loves playing games to help define and implement the ever-changing presentation of game content and documentation.

Drive the W&E schedule and coordinate handoffs with the product team, game developers, and localization.
Edit game story, UI, tutorials, and print materials.
Edit game cinematic and voiceover scripts.

Career experience as an editor with creative, developmental editing skills, as well as a solid command of grammar rules (and how to bend them to make games more fun).
Geopolitical, legal, ESRB, and localization experience.
Solid working relationships with writers, producers, game developers, testers, artists, and other key W&E partners worldwide.
Upbeat, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills to tactfully deliver feedback when working with highly creative and opinionated team members.

Ability and willingness to travel by plane (economy class) to business partners, sometimes on short notice, both domestically and internationally.
Ability to work core business hours (10 AM to 4 PM Pacific Standard Time) at minimum.
Ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends as required for project and world time zone differences.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Technical Communications, English Literature, Journalism, Linguistics, or a related field.
