Microsoft Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced attorney in the Procurement, Operations and Information Technology group of its Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCA) department. The position will involve the drafting, negotiation and interpretation of wide variety of inbound procurement agreements for technology outsourcing, software development, supply chain, hardware and professional services.

Specific responsibilities for this transactional specialist include:

Be involved in the various stages of the procurement cycle and advising clients on a variety of topics relating to vendor engagements, transactions and issues.
Collaborating with other legal groups within Microsoft to negotiate corporate-wide master agreements and improve existing vendor agreement templates.
Negotiating multiple complex vendor and outsourcing agreements (inbound software licensing, professional services, supply chain, corporate services etc.)
Drafting creative transactional documents to achieve a broad range of business purposes including settlement agreements, guarantees, use terms and license rights
Identifying vendor contracting quality and process efficiency improvements.
Identifying issues, consulting with experts and advising on matters related to data protection and privacy, tax, risk management, audit, intellectual property, information technology, and corporate compliance related to vendor engagements.

We are looking for someone with:
A minimum of two+ years experience as a transactional attorney (substantial experience in vendor and procurement transactions is a strong plus).
Ability to partner effectively with clients in a team environment, working across a large number of diverse internal groups, teams and divisions.
Excellent communications, drafting, and negotiation skills
Confidence and ability to quickly identify, analyze and develop creative and smart solutions to difficult problems and challenges.
Desire to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Proactive with the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Strong drive to serve the company's best interest and do the right thing!
Member of the Washington Bar and excellent academic credentials
