User Experience Researcher - Windows Phone Job

Do you want to play an active role in shaping the next wave of Microsoft's mobile user experience? You can be a part of determining the future of mobile computing by owning and delivering a key part of Microsoft's wireless device technology! We are looking for a senior UX Researcher with strong skills in experimental research design and statistical analysis. The role involves working collaboratively, creatively, and flexibly within an interdisciplinary team, and with our partners to create a high-quality experience on the Windows Phone Platform. Your work will involve driving user-centered design for next generation mobile communications experiences, including gathering insight, exploring and defining design opportunities, iterating and validating and defining strategy.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of an MA/MS in Social, Cognitive, or Experimental Psychology
- Experience designing and running original experimental research
- Strong statistical analysis skills, and ideally familiarity with parametric and non-parametric statistics and the various statistical packages used for analysis (SPSS, Statistica, etc)
- Skilled at finding creative ways to present and visualize rich research data
- 5+ years of industry experience conducting user research and effectively driving tangible outcomes with product teams.
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team with limited supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and ideally experience presenting to executive audiences
- People management experience preferred, but not required
The Windows Phone User Experience team is a multidisciplinary organization whose charter is to design world-class end-to-end experiences that are desirable, thoughtful, consistent, and easy-to-use. User Research candidates will have responsibility for the current and future design of Microsoft's mobile communications products.
