Service Developer
Microsoft Game Studios' 343 Industries is looking for an SDE 2 to join the Halo Waypoint team, and help develop new experiences in the Halo universe. Work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry -- we are gathering an incredible team to help drive the future of Halo.
The ideal developer for this position should have a passion for video games and a strong understanding of delivering and supporting online services. Candidates should be excited and motivated about creating new game experiences. Come be a part of a new, fun and talented development family building game technology in a startup studio environment.
Responsibilities
You will be a key part of a development team building a long-lived service platform and suite of game and community services from the ground up, supporting and connecting the entire Halo universe. You will work with artists, designers, developers and testers as well as several external teams - including other MGS studios and the Xbox Platform team.
Specific focus areas include:
- Developing client-side network code and data models
- Owning new features from end-to-end and start-to-finish
- Building services that scale to millions of users
- Architecting a platform of technology to support multiple feature releases over many years
- Writing lots and lots of code
Qualifications/Skills
- At least 4 years of professional C++ and C# experience
- Strong debugging and optimization skills in a multi-threaded environment
- Prior experience with client/server systems development and maintenance
- Highly concurrent real-time systems experience a plus
- SQL experience a plus
- Console game development experience a plus
- Web development experience a plus
- Content delivery systems experience a plus
- IL generation skills a plus
- Database abstraction layer expertise a plus
- XLSP experience a plus
