The Xbox team is looking for a lead hardware test engineer to participate the qualification and validation of hardware for Project Natal, the device that defines the new revolutionary way to play game. As a lead test engineer, you will work with development team and test system engineer on development testing methodology, test plan and test cases for our new hardware products. You will also manage a test team consists of FTE and vendor employees in executing and test plan and complete the testing tasks per project schedule.

Qualified Candidate should also have a broad understanding of PC or game console architecture, must have track record in testing and validating the high volume consumer electronics products, extensive knowledge of hardware product development processes and quality requirements of such products, extended experience on hardware design verification process, and familiar with high volume manufacturing process and test. In addition, a successful candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills, good people management skill and cross-organizational and project management skills, excellent technical knowledge including test process/case design and development. A bachelor degree in engineering field and 10+ years of hardware testing experience is required.
The primary responsibilities include…
Work together with test system engineer and other test leads, define new product testing frameworks, test tool development, test coverage and test methodology.
Define the test schedule, manage the test team and execute the test plan to meet the project schedule.
Provide technical guidance to manufacturing test team on efficient manufacturing test software and hardware development for high volume production.
Provide mentorship and help grow senior ICs in the organization.
Work with test system engineer and other test leads to drive integration and adoption of best practices.
Required Skills
BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Minimum 10 years experience hardware development and testing
Experience with developing consumer electronic devices, leading & managing multiple concurrent development projects and at least 4-6 full development cycles
Experience with validating the high speed digital circuit that involves high speed data bus such as DDR2, USB, PCIe etc.
Experience with design and validation of embedded software (C, assembly) and real time operating systems (Win CE).
Detailed knowledge of USB interface technology and proven track record for USB protocol analysis and debug
Demonstrated leadership in working through complex problems or ill-defined requirements
Strong skill-set in analytical problem solving.
Experience working with development partners in bringing high volume consumer electronics devices to the market.
Must be enthusiastic, motivated and self driven
Position requires domestic and international travel
