Cloud computing is widely accepted as a technology inflexion that will change IT landscape as we know it. Microsoft is at the forefront of this change through popular SaaS (Software as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) offerings. A vibrant partner ecosystem is one of the critical success factors of Microsoft cloud computing strategy and this is your chance to be part of a team that will catalyze independent software vendors (ISVs) in building service offerings on Microsoft cloud computing platform.

Are you passionate about cloud computing? Do you enjoy public speaking? Do you love to change the status quo of an organization by envisioning new service offerings and paint the vision of how these can be taken to the market on Microsoft cloud platform? Are you excited to engage senior technology decision makers (TDMs) and architects to buy into your strategy? Do you love architecture as a trade to solve business problems? If you answered yes to these questions, the Architect Evangelist @ Microsoft position is for you.

The Architect Evangelist (AE) demonstrates the value of Microsoft platform technologies including cloud computing to senior TDMs and architects at ISV partners. The AE teams up with large and small ISVs in stimulating Windows Azure adoption by building new service offerings as well as by refactoring the existing shrink wrapped applications. The AE will also leverage ISV success stories in building further momentum in this important partner channel for Microsoft. The Architect Evangelist will also work with the existing evangelism engines and create new ones if necessary in reaching out and influencing the ISV technical audience at a broader level. A few examples of such breadth activities are: speaking at external ISV conferences, Microsoft internal conferences, technology user groups, writing to industry and trade magazines and whitepapers.
The Architect Evangelist is a member of the Microsoft Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) group. The DPE mission is to secure platform adoption and revenue growth through evangelism, community engagement, relationship marketing and a vibrant solutions ecosystem. DPE is committed to broad Microsoft application platform adoption and a vibrant ecosystem of customers, partners and developers. Through evangelism, marketing and sales, DPE helps secure the Microsoft platform, now and in the future.

Drive Windows Azure adoption at ISV partners through strategic design wins

Experience mapping these conceptual ideas to the business problems, so-called ‘logical architecture', or architectural patterns, and then how they can be implemented at a physical level using techniques such as design patterns. Hands on experience in large scale architecture design and implementation of modern distributed systems preferred. Conference speaking and other forms of public speaking is a critical success factor of this role.
