Reliability

We incorporate best practices throughout the software development life cycle (from planning and design to deployment and support), educating our engineers to write more reliable code, creating innovative new development tools and technologies to improve software and services quality, and implementing process changes to improve accountability at all levels.  From there, we work to share these advances to support a wide variety of hardware and software and services partners in the larger technology ecosystem. Privacy, Online Trust, & Safety

Microsoft has a longstanding commitment to privacy, which is an integral part of our product and service lifecycle. Privacy professionals and employees oversee the application of our privacy policies, standards, and procedures.  Internal privacy standards guide how we collect, use, and protect customer and partner data.  We continually research and develop technologies that help our engineers enhance privacy and safety protections in our products and services.

Microsoft supports privacy legislation that facilitates the free flow of information, enhances consumer privacy, and encourages innovation. We strive for greater interoperability among national privacy regulations and standards in order to maximize the benefits of cloud computing and online services.

Microsoft leads the industry in accessibility innovation and in building products that are safer and easier to use. In doing so, we aim to help people of all ages and abilities realize their full potential – through the transformative power of software.  Accessibility makes it easier for anyone to see, hear, and use a computer, and to personalize their devices to meet their own needs and preferences. For many people with mild to severe impairments, accessibility is what makes computer use possible.
